Husband b Slaughters wife

This is another epic reason why women must run away from any iota of unending abusive relationship or else it is a point of no return. Try to work things out but if push comes to shove, remember the first law of nature, law of self preservation, Love thyself first!
According to friends of the late woman. Endurance and Isaac were married for four years and had one child together. They also ran a business together, an education consulting firm. Sometime last year, Endurance found out that her husband was having an affair with one of their employees and this caused serious problems between them. Endurance eventually moved out of her matrimonial home with her 2 year old daughter.
On Saturday morning April 13th, Isaac’s friend, a guy named Stanley came to pick Endurance from her office, saying that her in-laws (mother-in-law and sister-in-law) were waiting for her at her husband’s house and wanted to resolve some issues with her. Endurance went with Stanley.
Endurance Ajisegiri’s family got a call on Sunday April 14th from her husband, Isaac Ajisegiri, informing them that she had died at their home in the Shasha area of Lagos the previous day and he had taken her corpse to the mortuary. Endurance’s family immediately called the police.
The following day, her corpse was deposited at Crystal Hospital by Isaac. Her throat had been slit with a knife from inside her kitchen. Isaac told police that endurance killed herself with the knife after a serious argument. Isaac, his mother and sister (who slept in the house that night) are now in police custody. Stanley is no where to be found. The case is being handled by the Homicide Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Court Jails Peadophile in Ado Ekiti ,Ekiti State of Nigeria

He goes by the name Innocent Eze, but he could not prove his innocence before an Ado-Ekiti High Court, which found him guilty of defiling a 12-year-old girl and consequently sentenced him to eight years imprisonment.

The convict was sentenced to one year imprisonment for indecent assault, while he bagged seven years jail term for defilement, under a two count charge. The eight years will run concurrently.

The plea by Eze’s lawyer for the court to temper justice with mercy drew flak from the presiding judge, Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye, who described the crime as barbaric.

His words, “It’s unfortunate that a 12-year-old girl would have been sexually defiled as was done to the victim in this case. It is more unfortunate that the matter came to the public domain.

“The convict by his act had succeeded in placing a stigma on the person of the victim, which may take a long time to erase. Then trauma suffered by the victim is definitely such as would take a longer time to forget.

“The act of the convict is not such as should be encouraged. This is definitely a barbaric act and the sentence must be such as would serve as deterrent to the convict and others who still harbour similar tendencies.”

The judge was not alone in condemning the crime committed by Eze, which the Wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, described as “abhorrent.”

Until he found another abode behind bars, Eze, an indigene of Nsukka, in Enugu State, resided in Ayegunle Street, Ijan-Ekiti, Ekiti State, where his perverted libido landed him in trouble.

Reacting to the judgment in a statement by her Special Assistant on Media, Akin Oyedele, the governor’s wife said it was a major victory for her crusade against sexual and child abuse.

She expressed the hope that it would serve as deterrent to other paedophiles and perverts on the prowl that Ekiti State would not be a haven for sexual offenders.

The First Lady said, “Although it’s not capable of eliminating the scars, but it will at least heal the wound of the victim with tender heart and others like her that have been sexually violated and traumatised.

“It’s victory for all caring parents, individuals, groups and civil society organisations that have joined me in campaigning against every form of child abuse. I salute the courage of the trial judge for the decision.

“The judgment will further promote the Child Right Act and the Gender-based Violence (Prohibition) Law, which are very dear to this administration. Let me reiterate that we will not allow our children to become preys in the hands of people who don’t have moral scruples.”

The governor’s wife also advised parents to be wary of the kind of errands they send their young girls, stressing that experience had shown that young girls fall prey to predatory people when running errands.

She urged parents to protect their young daughters against abuse by monitoring their relationship with so-called family friends, uncles, neighbours, teachers, school proprietors and guardians.

Women who are separated from their husbands were also advised to think twice before entrusting their young girls in care of their fathers, judging by several reported cases of incest involving unscrupulous fathers and their vulnerable teenage daughters.

She said, “The government has played its part by putting necessary laws in place to enforce the rights of women and children and to protect them from abuse. It is incumbent upon the citizens to rally behind the government to stamp this social malaise out of our land.”

Erelu Bisi Fayemi used the opportunity to encourage children and women to speak out and seek lawful redress anytime their rights were violated, while she admonished perpetrators to turn a new leaf.

According to the court, the convict had on August 31, 2011, in Ijan-Ekiti, pounced on the young girl after assisting him to fetch water from a neighbourhood well and dragged her inside his apartment where he sexually violated her.

The victim was said to have earlier rejected love advances from Eze, while he also turned down his plea to assist him to take his filled bucket inside his room before he seized her.

He had stuffed a handkerchief in the traumatised girl’s private part when blood started oozing out after the act and later gave her N100 to “buy drugs.”

Testifying before the court, a doctor attached to the General Hospital, Ijan Ekiti, confirmed that the otherwise innocent girl’s hymen had been “traumatized, with laceration along the vaginal wall.”

Guard mistakenly killed his colleague in Lekki

On June 24, David Adenibuyan, 33, left his house bright and early, as usual, for his place of work in Lekki. By sun down, he was in jail for killing his colleague, Mr Abe.
While trying to rescue two screaming ladies and protect them from their pursuers, Mr Adenibuyan killed the man who helped him secure the job at Raymond Securities.
“I would have stayed at home if I knew that day was cursed for me but I could not because I was newly employed as a security guard and not going to work will mean I was not serious,” he said.
“If only I knew that I will take the life of a man who fed and gave me a roof over my head that day, then I would have preferred to lose my job or get a query.”
He said he was at his duty post that fateful day and had responded to the screams of two ladies who were allegedly about to be abducted. To scare away the would-be abductors, on getting to the scene, he claims he shot in the air.
“But my bullet hit a man whom I later found out to be my guardian,” he said. “Yes, Mr. Abe was my guardian and the man that gave me the security job I was doing. I lived with him for ten years and he was my everything but I ended his life. Mr. Abe is a security man too with the Lekki Residents Association but I took the life of my guardian by mistake.”
The ladies – Sandra Ibe and Nancy Ugo – said they were waiting for a cab, on Admiralty Road, to take them to Eleguishi Beach around midnight when a Lekki Security Patrol van stopped in front of them and a man ordered them to enter the vehicle.
“We did but the vehicle continued to move,” said Ms. Ibe. “We were scared and we asked the men where they were taking us to but they told us to shut up. The vehicle took us into a dark zone and the driver stopped in front of a bush. We thought the men were going to kill us so when the vehicle stopped, we saw this as an opportunity and we opened the door and ran out. One of the men ran after us shouting. Nancy fell into a swamp but I kept shouting ‘help help!’. All of a sudden, we saw another man in front of us, we then heard a gunshot and we did not hear the steps of the man pursuing us again.”
It was gathered that Mr. Abe and other guards had gone round the area to nab any touts as was their custom but that fateful night, they saw the two ladies and arrested them on the suspicion that they were up to no good. They were said to be taking the ladies to their duty post to detain them for the night before they escaped. In the course of chasing them, Mr. Abe was shot.
Mr Adenibuyan swears he did not aim to kill.
“I was at my duty post when I heard the ladies shouting for help; I ran towards them with a dane gun and shot into the air,” he said. “It was dark and I did not aim at any one. I ran to meet the ladies and one of them was in a swamp struggling to get out and I asked them what the problem was. They told me someone was pursuing them. We later heard a voice shouting for help and we ran to the man. That was when I discovered that he was Mr. Abe, my guardian and he had been shot. I ran to call a van to take him to the hospital but he died shortly after. I ran mad shouting for help that I have killed my father. I was distraught and I went home to tell his family. I have been crying since then.”
The next day, police officers arrested him, as well as the two ladies; and transferred the matter to the state Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for investigation.
“The police told me that I am not licensed to carry a gun and my poor training in handling a gun led to somebody’s death,” said Mr Adenibuyan. “I am terribly sad about the incident and I have not been myself. I don’t know if I can live with this.”

Police nab 3 assassin brothers

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) attached to the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, on Saturday, arrested three men, who were hired to kill one Veronica Okenido, a school proprietress.
The gang leader, Jude Ekpenisi, confessed that they were paid by an undisclosed person to assassinate the woman.
Jude, in his confession, alleged that they changed their mind because Okenido is a Christian.
“We had compassion on the woman and rejected the N150,000 we were offered but asked the woman to pay us off with the same amount,” Jude said.
The other members of the gang are his brothers, David and Philemon Uwadi.
Abba Kyari, who is a superintendent of Police and also the officer-in-charge of SARS, said that after the matter was reported to the command, his men swung into action and tracked down the gang leader through his brother’s phone line.
“Jude was arrested after he was lured out by a promise of a lucrative employment in a big church. A SARS operative posed as the pastor,” Kyari said.”
“The third suspect reported at the SARS Scorpion Building by himself, not knowing that Jude had been arrested in connection with the assassination attempt they had abandoned because their victim was not co-operating.”
Kyari, however, revealed that David was arrested when he came to SARS office to visit his brother.
Jude revealed that his house shares a fence with Okenido’s school and that she knew him but had no idea that he was the one that planned the assassination attempt.

But he did not know I was already in Nnewi when I answered his call,”said the husband (policeman).

Unknowing to the pastor, the police officer was waiting for him in his house. The suspect, a father of four from Ngwa in Abia State was said to have been making love advances to the policeman’s wife as the two families lived in the same building.

How Police Arrested Kidnapper Of Briton In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday paraded a 27-year-old man, Chukwuemeka Benson, for the alleged kidnap of a British expatriate, Dickson Lee.
It had ben reported that Lee, who was kidnapped in Mafoluku area of the state on his way from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport last Thursday, had been rescued by the police on Sunday.
It was learnt that after kidnapping the victim, the kidnappers demanded $1m (N159m) as ransom. However, police detectives working undercover were able to negotiate N7.5m with the kidnappers.
It was learnt that the suspect was arrested while he was attempting to collect the ransom.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Manko, said the suspect was arrested along Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Manko said after his arrest, Benson led detectives to an uncompleted building in Okota area of the state where the victim was found.
He said, “Benson came to collect ransom around Okokomaiko on Lagos-Badagry Expressway, when he was arrested by policemen of the Special Intelligence Bureau and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. One of his colleagues, who came with him, was shot during the operation, but he escaped with bullet wounds.
“Benson led policemen to an uncompleted building at Okota where Dickson (Lee) was rescued without paying ransom and without any injury. Efforts are on to arrest the remaining suspects at large.
“I urge people who have genuine business in Lagos State not to be afraid as the state remains the safest part of the country. People should also desist from paying ransom as this encourages kidnapping.”
It was learnt that at the uncompleted building, a locally-made revolver pistol with seven rounds of live ammunition and two AK47 rifle magazines were recovered.
The suspect however denied being a kidnapper. He said he was only used by the kidnappers at large to collect the ransom.
The indigene of Abia State said, “I sell second hand clothes for a living. However, some months ago, my goods worth over N200, 000 were seized by men of the Nigerian Customs Service at Agbara, Ogun State.
“I returned to my hometown to hustle but things were very hard. I have younger female cousins, who are all widows so I had to become the head of the extended family and decided to become rich by all means.”
He said he went to borrow money from a friend he identified only as Nonye, adding that the friend, who was the security guard at the uncompleted building, promised to loan him N150, 000 if he would collect money from someone on his behalf.
He said he innocently went to collect the money when he was arrested by the police.
He said, “On Friday, I went to see Nonye at the uncompleted building and he told me that he would loan me N150,000 which I could use as capital. I noticed a white man (Lee) sitting in one of the rooms. I asked Nonye who the man was, but he told me to mind my business. The white man was given juice and cake to eat.
“On Sunday, around 2pm, Nonye told me to go with his friend, Ugo, and collect money from the owner of the building. He said the money was for construction of the house but he did not tell me how much. I went with Ugo on a motorcycle and Ugo told me to go collect money from the owner of the building, sitting inside a car.
“When I attempted to collect the money, I was immediately arrested. I did not know I was being used.

Shina Rambo

In a very shocking interview renowned dare devil robber, Shina Rambo revealed some of the evil things he embarked on in his quest for power, during his reign terror in the 80's and 90's.

Read below
Shina Rambo now Mathew Oluwanifemi was a name that sent shivers down the spine of people who lived in the South West of Nigeria and even outside Nigeria, like Benin Republic and neighborhood, in the 1990's.
He was a hardened criminal, a terror and killer, one whom men of the security agencies will never forget in a haste!
A man mountain, towering about 6ft 5inch, well built, dark skinned and sweltering eyes, he carried out his operations, like a movie, in the broad day light, with sophisticated weapons, and bullet belts and explosives strapped roundabout him.
He specialized in robbing exotic cars on highways and banks. Nothing could stop him, not even security operatives, he was totally invincible. He was Shina Rambo! He was born in the year 1958 to a military man who was a bad egg in the service. His father was from Abeokuta in Ogun state, but his mother was a native of Sabongida-Ora in Edo state.
His father had over 18 wives, as was the norm for soldiers to impregnate virtually every woman they met where they were posted to.His father used his military influence to rob innocent citizens, and always brought huge amount of money home.

This used to entice little Shina. He recalls, "I remembered when I was about 7 years old, my father came home with a lot of money, foreign currencies, with blood on it, and they were using something like a woman's scarf to wipe it, then I asked him, is this an animal's blood, or human blood? But he wouldn't answer me, they were just drinking, smoking, and merry making.
"Shina was already indoctrinated into the underworld by his father at a tender age of 7 without him knowing it, as he would sit in front of his son, to dismantle and assemble all sorts of weapons and then polishing them in preparation for an operation. This went on for so long till one day, little Shina, entered into his father's room while he had stepped into the toilet, and saw a dismembered gun on the floor.

He sat down in front of it, and bit by bit, he had assembled it effortlessly in no time at all. His father came out of the toilet, and saw his son, with a loaded gun in his hands. Shina flashed back and said, "That day my father was so disappointed, that he wanted to kill me, he grabbed the gun from my hand and shot straight at me, but I miraculously escaped out of the room. Then he waited for me to be less alert at night he came to my room with a machete and tried to behead me, but once again, I escaped, but the machete caught my left leg. (rolled up his trouser to show us the large scar, that made everyone sighed in pity).
It cut me so deep I thought I was never going to walk again. That day I knew I had graduated, all that was left was to pull the trigger, and I was so eager. Shina Rambo became so notorious in no time, and was hell bent on succeeding in his career as an armed robber, that he went through any length to secure spiritual powers for fortification.
To the extent of pounding over 27 live new born babies in the mortar with a pestle, cutting off about 100 human tongues and cooking them to eat, visiting the spiritual river called river of life in Ogoja, Cross Rivers State, living in an Iroko tree for days, and sleeping in the cemetery.
He was given a spiritual wife who always followed him for any operation, she dressed like an Alhaja, people thought she was human, but she was a spirit, that was why they never saw her face.
He said she was his personal driver, that she could drive from Nigeria to Cotonou, in the speed of light.

Hear him. "I was involved in so many rituals, that I can't start naming them now, I was so powerful, I went underground, inside trees that looked like a city, a lot of beautiful houses inside the tree, I had my own too, I went into a river called River of life in Ogoja, where a lot of politicians and wealthy men used to come, I had several personalities, I could change my form whenever I wanted to, that's why the police were busy killing innocent people, and thought they were killing Shina Rambo.
The 9 herbalists that gave me that power, I became stronger than them, one day I went to their shrines, and killed all of them, so that they don't reveal my secrets. I had too many powers; my spiritual wife could drive any car in this world or out of it, no police vehicle, or anyone for that matter, could ever chase and catch me during an operation.

She was out of this world, and when she had completed her operation, they took her away from me. I could give anything to get powers, and the elders knew, so they also gave me anything I wanted.I once beheaded hundred men, and gave them the heads fresh, they were so happy with me that they made me invincible.
No matter the kind of bullet you shot at me, it was just like pure water on my body. I could give anything to get power, but of all the things I did to get power, the one that still breaks my heart the most, is sleeping with my mother. My father is dead now, but my mother is still alive, and she lives with me she is 85 years old, whenever I set my eyes on her, I just start crying.
I can`t bear it. Shina Rambo was a raging terror, he was infallibly dangerous, the police dreaded him, both in Nigeria, and Benin Republic, his place of interest for business.

He would go to police stations, in broad daylight and kill every policeman there, drive to check points and open fire on every policeman on duty, he didn't like the police at all, and was never afraid of them, he operated in broad day light armed to the teeth looking like Johny Rambo, in the popular Sylvester Stalone movie, "First Blood".
He once robbed 40 exotic cars in one day and drove all of them in a convoy, from Lagos to Cotonou, unstopped. He was powerful; he was wealthy, and impenetrable. He was a tin god, apparently belched from the very arroyo hell, we all dreaded him. He had a wife and three children, but he lost all of them in one day during a bloody police raid whilst he was away on operation.
His wife was his stabilizing factor his life changed afterwards. He says "my wife was everything to me,

I was forbidden by the elders to sleep with any other woman apart from her, I could gather about 50 women around me in a hotel, and they will just be playing with me, we would smoke, drink, and sniff cocaine, I will give them money but I will never sleep with them. I will go back home to my wife and sleep with her. That was why the police never caught me. She knew my job, she knew what I was, I never left them alone at night, I operated in the day time and go back home to my family at night.
I had everything, I was very wealthy, I once spent 50 million naira in a day. I did it a lot, there was one day that we were coming from an operation and it seemed as if my powers were going to fail me, the police and the army were almost closing in on us, so we had to drive into a crowd and threw millions of naira in the air, there was commotion, everybody was busy picking naira notes even the police, until we escaped.

I was too rich, but anything the devil gives you never lasts, he will collect more from you, it's only the devil that will give you Fila, (cap) and ask for Iro and Buba.(wrapper and top). I lost everything, all the money, my family; I was so powerful the police couldn't catch me but I lost it all.I had to surrender myself to the police, and I was arrested and jailed for 11 years.
When I was serving my jail term in Agodi prisons, Ibadan, Prophet T.O Obadare came visiting, and having been encouraged several times by the Christian brothers and sisters in the prison to give my life to Christ, he prayed for me and converted me, and changed my name to Oluwanifemi, and it was so miraculous, the next day I woke up and started speaking in tongues. It was during the time of President Olusegun Obasanjo, that we were granted freedom.

At this point, I was glued to my seat, the revival where Shina Rambo gave this exclusive confession was on an open ground revival in the ancient city of Ibadan, right in front of me, on stage, was Evangelist Mathew Oluwanifemi, the once feared Shina Rambo, clad in a loose fitting shirt, black pants and a pair of leather sandals with a black Holy Bible in his hands, gigantic dark skinned and bald headed, still had those fiery looks, and stealth movement.
I was more transfixed than focused, God is indeed awesome, he picked the offering basket raised it to the congregation prayed and asked who had anything to give to God, at first I was reluctant, my mind was occupied and out of an innate compulsion, sheer curiosity I stood up, dipped my hand in my pocket walked towards him briskly and calculatedly brought out my offering, dropped it into the basket, and looked deep into his eyes, I had too many things to ask him, there were too many questions unanswered.
He looked back at me, and spoke in Yoruba, saying God bless you my brother; we know your type when we see them. The congregation broke into a mild giggle, as all eyes were on me as I went back to my seat, with a lot of things on my mind, and the red light on my midget still blinking, in the breast pocket of my jacket…

Politicians acquiring arms for militant camps – Dickson

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, on Tuesday raised the alarm over alleged ongoing arrangements by disgruntled politicians to reopen destroyed militant camps in the state.
He said those behind the plot had already started acquiring arms to actualise their devilish scheme.
In a tacit indictment of Rivers and Delta states, Dickson, said “neighbouring states” were behind the plot to destabilise, Bayelsa, the state of President Goodluck Jonathan.
He insisted that desperate politicians and their collaborators from neighbouring states were behind some of the street protests that occurred recently in Yenagoa, the state capital.
He alleged that such disgruntled elements who were bent in unsettling the state had gone underground to organise what he referred to as “sponsored mass street protest.”
According to the governor, the looming protest is part of the group’s campaign of calumny and propaganda against the state government.
Dickson was recently appointed the Chairman of the 13-member reconciliation committee raised by the Peoples Democratic Party to resolve its festering problems.
Delta and Rivers States share borders with Bayelsa State. While Delta is relatively calm, Rivers has been enmeshed in violent powerplay with accusing fingers pointing at the Presidency.
But Dickson in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said politicians from neighbouring states had unleashed their anger on Bayelsa.
He said: “In recent times, we have seen deliberate attempts by this group of desperate power seekers sponsoring some gullible graduates to take to the streets.
“They were also behind the recent protest staged by pensioners in the state. It is sad to note that they are now on a planned mission to incite unsuspecting youths to take to the streets to protest against the state government.”
He said such politicians had started dolling out cash to youths to mobilise them for the demonstration.

Princewell-Arinze-Chukwueze
A suspected serial fraudster has finally been arrested by the Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja after more than two months’ of frantic manhunt for him over a $92,000 scam.
Princewell Arinze Chukwueze’s arrest followed an allegation of sham transactions involving him and a well known Bureau de change operator in Lagos on May 10, 2013.
The EFCC recovered a variety of items from him including 21 different telephone handsets, complimentary cards of African Development Bank bearing Aboki J. Brown, fake $15,000; different cheque books of
According to reports, Chukwueze had introduced himself as a Director of African Development Bank based in Cote D’ Ívoire named Aboki J. Brown and he used his fake identity to dupe the Bureau de change operator at Sura Shopping Complex, Sandgrouse, Lagos.
Sources claim that Chukwueze initially offered to buy $65,000 from him but then increased it to $92,000 and made arrangements for the exchange at a branch of Wema Bank Plc in Lekki, Lagos.
But when the operator got to the bank with the dollars, Chukwueze pleaded with the operator to accompany him in his siren-blaring Toyota Hilux Pick-Up Van to a “nearby branch of Zenith Bank Plc” instead so he could give him the naira equivalent of the foreign currency.
However, on their way there, Chukwueze was said to have picked up two armed men on the road who forcefully dispossessed the operator of the $92,000.
Chukwueze is also known to have used several other gimmicks to scam several bureau de change operators in Lagos and Abuja and was arrested on one of those operations while trying to defraud another bureau de change operator of $110,000.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has asked a Rivers State High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, to restrain the Chief Judge of the state from constituting any panel to investigate any notice of allegation presented by the House of Assembly, except the request is in compliance with sub-sections 2, 3 and 4 of Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.

Adejobi attributed the arrest of Umaru, from Bulunkutu Kasuwa in Maiduguri to robust intelligence gathering of the command.

“The suspect, who confessed to have fled Maiduguri due to aggressive man-hunt by security operatives, was picked up by police operatives in Ogun State on a tip-off.

Suspected Boko Haram Militants Strike In Bauchi, Kill Policeman, Two Others

Nigerian police officer
Suspected Boko Haram sect members last night attacked a police facility in Darazo, Bauchi State, killing one policeman and two civilians, including a little girl.  Another girl received serious bullet wounds.
A military source said the gun duel with security operatives lasted over one hour when the suspected sect members stormed the Darazo police station.  The gunmen also tried to enter some commercial banks in the town, but were repelled by the operatives.
Another source in Darazo told SaharaReporters that the gun fight created panic in the area.
“It was bad experience when Boko Haram men started exchanging fire, two of our girls were shot but one survived while one of our friends was gunned down in the cross fire,” he recounted.  “As for now, normalcy has returned but security operatives are still combing forests and other possible hideouts of Boko Haram.”

Pastor seeks divorce from sexually insatiable wife

Pastor Raphael Chibueze of the Christ Embassy Church has urged an Ogui Customary Court in Enugu to dissolve his six-year-old marriage to Uchenna for alleged adultery.
Chibueze told the court on Tuesday that the plea for dissolution followed her “waywardness, dishonesty, quarrelsomeness and threat to his life”.
He said his wife was sexually insatiable, adding that it had been hell living with her.
“On a certain day, I refused to sleep with her when she requested because I was tired after returning from work and she got angry,” he said.
“I pleaded with her to leave it for the next day but she refused, saying that she can only get pregnant when she wants.”
Chibueze also accused his wife of attending a ‘white garment’ church from which she allegedly brought in spiritual items to their home.
He said his wife lost three pregnancies between 2009 and 2011, alleging that she was the one aborting them.
Chibueze told the court that it was the wish of every couple to have children but for his wife it was the opposite.
“I told her to stop attending such churches and that she should stop bringing in those items because I do not want that kind of prayer in my house,’’ he said.
He added that she had packed all their property and left the house to an unknown destination.
Narrating her own experience, Uchenna alleged that her husband was always beating her, claiming that he did not provide enough money for the upkeep of their only child, Favour.
Uchenna said she left the house when she discovered that her husband wanted to use her for money ritual.
The presiding court officer, Felix Agwu, adjourned the case to August 13 to enable Chibueze to complete his examination at the Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic in Ogun as he requested.

THE HAZARDS OF SMOKING

It is an accepted fact  by smokers and non smoker that it is madness that makes one to inhale smoke into his own lung: but smoking is an habit once formed hard to leave.
Millions of people all over the world are addicted to tobacco despite the millions  of dollars spent on advert show casing the dangers inherent in smoking several millions of people worldwide have become ‘heavy’ or ‘chain’ smokers not by choice but because they have found no way of escape, they are caught in the labyrinth of a habit developed in their teens when the  habit was seen as a symbol of arrival or social status. Many teenage smokers are not initially aware of the health hazards of smoking until they have become addicted and could no loner find the will to abstain, by then the effect of tobacco related diseases might have progressed causing far reaching damages to some vital tissue in their bodies.
Many smokers cannot state genially why they smoke. Actually don’t initially wants to smoke, they only  danced  to peer group pressure, doing what everyone was doing at that time. One truth is that like a vocation, smokers too learn how to smoke.
Most teenagers learn how to smoke through parental influence. A teen whose father smokes cigarette is likely to imbibe the smoking culture. Sometimes in some culture tobacco smoking is seen as a way of life; both the women and the men   smoke without restraint. In some cases students who have cultivated the habit of smoking from home sometimes lure   innocent fellow students to the habit especially when they go partying. Not to be left out or looked upon as being “unsocial” most teens end up becoming tobacco addicts. Tobacco smoking is an habit that is imbibe in the teenage years according to some medical experts, tobacco contains a chemical known as nicotine which triggers off cancer in human beings. Its destructive effect on human body is likened to that of cyanides which attacks vital membranes of the lung windpipe, blood stream .Of all the eighteen chemicals in cigarette, the two most deadly are the tar and nicotine, both are carcinogen or cancer. Producing substance. The effect of all these poison makes smokers susceptible to cancer of the mouth cervix, kidney, bladder, pancreas and esophagus. They are also liable to ulcer of the duodenum and stomach .Smoking also pulls calcium out of the   skeleton, thus accelerating  bone thinning process known as osteoporosis. Furthermore smokers are liable to emphysemas : slow killing through suffocation. Inflammation of the throat and smokers cough are also some of the rewards of smoking . medical experts also concludes that nicotine in tobacco constricts small arteries supplying blood to the heart, brain, lungs and other vital organs depriving them of vital oxygen. Medically, it has been proved that nicotine produces a fake sense of well being and relaxation which is referred to smoking main appeal, it allows the cells of the body to entry nicotine destruction which eventually leads to the destruction of vital cells. The carbondixide that is inhaled interferes with the ability of red blood cells to carry oxygen which may cause shortness of breath, lack of endurance and acceleration of a theroserosis(narrowing and hardening of the arteries ) which could later trigger cardiovascular disease and stroke. Finally it has also been medically proved that an average smoker loses 8.3years from their normal life expectancy as it is assumed that every stick of cigarette smoked takes away 13minitues from one’s lifespan . cancer of the lung is on the increase more than cancer of any other part of the human anatomy due to the unrestrained reckless increase in the use of tobacco.
Medical reports also say that one out of ten heavy smokers of cigarettes will die of lung cancer. Pregnant women are also not left as medical report also indicates the like hood of  giving birth to deformed children with tobacco infested diseases.
Today may smokers finds it difficult to get unhooked from addiction. There are instance when in a bid to stop smoking. Some smokers make it their new year resolution only to reneged after 3 or five  days. Some even quit smoking for a period of 12 twelve months only for them to go back the old ways. Smokers will never answer the call of nature in the toilet without a stick of cigarette dangling between their  month. Some prefer to smoke cigarette even whom they are famished. Smokers believe erroneously that smoking could take away the effect of cold or assist or aid food digestion. Some of them believes in  the  three state of matter. Solid, liquid and gas to mean food for solid, water or alcohol for liquid  and tobacco/cigarettes for gas. To  them the intake of food and liquid can not be complete without inhaling cigarette . Smokers sometimes become withdrawn when they are hooked up in a place where smoking is not permitted, they also tend to loose self esteem when they are within a confined place where non smoker are in charge as their breath is always unpleasant and they find it difficult to express themselves so an not pollute  the air through odor from their mouth and nostril
However one can quit smoking if  ones is determined to .It only requires the will power on the part of the smoker. There are instance when smokers would confess in the open only to hide and satisfy his urge. So for every smoker that wants to quit smoking, he  must first believes that he was not born a smoker but only cultivated the habit. Smokers should also realize the pay off to quitting cigarettes smoking, they should realized the sense of victory, increased self-esteem,

pleasant breath, increased endurance, ability to act better, food, increased health and energy, a feeling of well being and freedom from an inconvenient, unpopular costly and self demeaning habit .
Please stop this habit to save yourself and other passive smokers of tobacco related disease and untimely death.

TOURISM AS A CATALYST TO NIGERIAN ECONOMIC COMATOSE

Tourism is one sector of the Nigerian economy that has suffered neglect over the years due to the shortsightedness on the part of the Government and people at the helm of affairs. The sector is one of the many others that have remained underdeveloped after the discovery of Oil in commercial quantity.
The discovery of Oil automatically crippled every other sector of the economy given to the fact that the amount of revenue generated from that sector alone is greater than the total revenue produced by all the other sectors put together, this made the government to abandon all other sectors of the economy to concentrate more on the sector that it has comparative advantage over. Other factors militating against the development of tourism in Nigeria include:
The poor infrastructural facilities, that has made communication and traveling impossible.
There is the security problem that has become a source of worry not only to the citizens but tourist alike, cases of armed robbery attacks, in the major cities and the kidnapping of foreigners by some criminals; who feign militants have become a daily occurrence.

The restriction of tourist from smoking cigarette and consumption of alcohol by the application of Islamic Laws (Sharia) in some Northern States like: Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano and so on where hoteliers and their guests are often harassed and attacked by Muslim fundamentalist all in the name of forcefully implementing the Sharia Legal system, which most often lead to fatal crisis between the minority Christian and the Muslim majority. This situation  has also marred efforts to attract visitors
Nigeria is blessed with so many natural features coupled with natural asset which are of universal recognition. The socio cultural difference of the 250 ethnic groups that makes up the country has contributed to the richness of the diversity of the Nigerian culture. Nigeria can be counted as one richly endowed potential tourist destination in the world not minding the fact that her tourism potential has not been fully utilized for its economic gains. If authority concerned could co-ordinate all the tourist attractions in the country and invest heavily in the sector it would lead to a systematic transformation of the comatose tourism sector.  The money in tourism is enormous if well harnessed, it could sustain the economy of the nation and reduce the total dependency on Oil. It is a known fact that the Crude Oil would dry up someday, a well developed Tourism sector could turn out to be the nation’s second largest foreign exchange earner after Oil.
Also, festivals could be used to attract tourist to the country thereby boosting the nation’s foreign earning. Festivals like: the Osun Osogbo, Agrungun International Fishing Festival in Kebbi  State, Olokun Festival in Badagary, Lagos State, Igogo Festival in Owo, Ondo State, Eyo Festival in Lagos state, New Yam Festival in the South-South states and many others. One notable thing is that Nigeria is so blessed in all aspect of Tourism : cultural, Ecological, Food, Religion  and Sports Tourism. If all these are well harnessed coupled with a conducive environment for both indigenes and foreign investors, Nigeria could become an economic giant through tourism.  Countries like Ghana with a population of about 30.7 million people make  about 10million Dollars annually through tourism. South Africa with a population of 58.6 million people make about 47billion Pounds ( U.N statistics 2006) . One aspect of the industry in Africa that is yet untouched is the Nigeria varied and pleasing landscape, abundant and diverse wildlife:  Baboons, Leopards, Hyenas, Elephants, Antelopes  and similar other species of animals can easily be found in the nation’s wildlife reserves. Parks are integral Part of tourism and the nation can boast of 8 wild life parks dotted across it geographical enclave: Okunu National Park, Edo State . Chad Basin National Park Borno State,  Kanji National Park, Kwara State, Kamuku National Park, Kaduna State, Yankari National Park, Bunchi State,  Gashaha Gumit National Park, Adamawa State, Cross River National Park, Cross and  Old Oyo National Park, Oyo State.
Museum like parks are also integral to tourism, because it involves promotions and marketing; they are places of interest that is shown to Foreigner to come and spend their money. The potential role of the tourism sector as a major instrument for Social, Economic and Political development can not be overemphasis, and can not be realized unless the numerous tourist attractions are well developed, packaged and promoted with diligent attention to the security and welfare of the visitors.

How We Run Police Stations With Bribes Due To Lack Of Money---DPO

Is so shameful that the Nigerian police that are suppose to fight corruption are the same people violating it,money is not fort coming to maintain a station is not an accuse and that is so unacceptable .

Meager allocations from the Federal Government that has refused to decentralize the Police is putting Nigeria police stations at the mercy of charity from communities and dirty money from criminals.

“Unknown to us, this hotelier was engaging in commercial sexual exploitation of juveniles in the hotel. We were shocked to learn about this and initially it was very hard for us to take a decision due to the support he had been rendering to the police station," said a DPO.

Temitayo Famutimi reports that for whoever wants to know why inefficiency is the lot of the Nigeria Police, the starting point may be to closely watch the state of things at police stations across the country. Apart from the poor physical state of many of them, they are largely run on charity.

By the way, how much should a police station, which ought to be always battle-ready in all ramifications, since security problems can arise any time, have in its coffer at every point in time? Well, investigations by our correspondent shows that some of the police stations in Nigeria get as low as N35,000 as allocation from the force headquarters per quarter.

Besides, Nigerians who have at one time or the other had a reason to report an incident at a police station are no longer new to the demands from the policeman on duty, asking them to part with sums between N500 and N1, 000 before their statement can be taken.

Even after taking such statements and there is a need to make an arrest of those reported, the policeman on duty asks the complainant to drop another N2, 000 to fuel the police patrol vehicle.

A cross section of DPOs who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity say the development poses a dilemma and, indeed, a threat to the operations of the security agents.

Besides, despite the Inspector-General of Police’s order outlawing police check-points on highways, policemen are still occasionally sighted at some strategic highways across the country, mounting roadblocks and extorting money from the motoring public.

The reasons why this development has continued to be a regular feature of policing in the country, according to men and senior officers of the police, is as a result of the paltry sum of money being allocated to run police stations.

They declare that many of them run the affairs of police stations from the proceeds of bribes collected by men who go on regular patrols as well as philanthropic gestures of members of the public.

But a new twist to this development is that criminals are joining other law abiding citizens to contribute to the running of police stations in the country.

A DPO serving in the Ogun State Police Command explains that depending on members of the public for effective policing is not only risky but also against the principles of policing. Describing the majority of such philanthropic gestures as a Greek gift, the senior police officer says experience has shown that many of these donors usually have skeletons in their cupboards.

Buttressing his argument with what transpired in his area of jurisdiction, he explains that an hotelier who had taken up the responsibility of paying for the monthly subscription of the DSTV in the police station was, initially unknown to him, doing so as a cover for his child abuse activities in his hotel.

He says, “My men didn’t have the gut to take actions because they were unsure if they had the moral right to arrest a staunch supporter of the station. My men had to await my arrival at the station before a decision to raid the hotel had to be taken.

“Expectedly, the subscription for the DSTV stopped and, ever since, I foot the bill from my purse whenever I have enough money to spare."

Investigations by Punch reveal that police stations receive quarterly allocations from state commands, after the latter would have got reimbursements from the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

A senior police source at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Abeokuta also confided in our correspondent that the quarterly allocation the command receives from the Force Headquarters fluctuates between N450, 000 and N650, 000.

This amount, it was gathered, is meant for catering for the needs of the 46 police stations and the five area commands in the state for three months. The amount, it was learnt, is not distributed equally among the police stations as criteria such as the size of the police station and the crime wave in the station’s area of jurisdiction were being used to determine how much each station receives.

A Divisional Police Officer in the Command, who claims to be receiving one of the highest quarterly allocations, says his division receives between N35, 000 and N40, 000 every three months.

This amount, according to him, is meant to cover fuelling of patrol vehicles, generators, stationeries, communication, and other expenses incurred by the police station during the three-month period.

The DPO, who also pleads anonymity because he is not in a position to speak to the press, explains that the allocation for a typical quarter is not even enough to fuel the patrol vehicles in the station for three days, let alone covering the whole expenses for three months.

He says, “It is very difficult to run a police station as a DPO without your men engaging in corrupt practices. How do you run a police station without funds? To describe the allocations we get quarterly as inadequate is to say the least.

“I get less than N40,000 to cater for my running costs quarterly, and, as a matter of fact, to run a truly motorised patrol, for instance, you will need about 40 litres of petrol in 24 hours for a patrol van and this amounts to N3, 840 daily. In this division, we have four patrol vehicles and this makes it N15,360 daily.

“If we decide to spend the allocation only on petrol, the money wouldn’t last more than three days. So, where do we get the money to make up for the huge shortfalls? Am I in the position to tell policemen who incessantly complain of poor salaries to donate money to run the affairs of the station?”

In Lagos, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, a public-private partnership established by law in 2007, has been useful in this regard. The LSSTF intervention ranges from acquisition of police equipment, purchasing of patrol vehicles and their maintenance.

However, a senior police officer in the state, explains that patrol vehicles whose maintenance bill is footed by the LSSTF are those attached to the Rapid Response Squad, noting that other vehicles in police divisions are left in care of DPOs to maintain from the quarterly allocation.

The police officer explains that the quarterly allocation given to police stations in the state is between N45, 000 and N80, 000, depending on the size of the police station and the crime wave in the area the station is situated.

He adds, “Police funding is a problematic issue and there is no way the police will perform magic with the way we are being funded. For my division, I get an allocation of N45, 000 quarterly. Just tell me what that money can cover out of the needs of the station for a total of 90 days?.

“Apart from fuelling of patrol vehicles and generators to power the police station, we incur expenses on stationeries. This is especially because the police are not ICT-compliant. As a result, we often beg for assistance from members of the public.’’

According to investigations, DPOs are usually in the habit of holding save-our-souls meeting with the members of the community in their jurisdiction to solicit for help to run the affairs of the station.

In such meetings, it was gathered, community development associations, owners of small businesses, among others, usually take up one or two responsibilities of catering for the needs of such police stations.

One of the DPOs in Lagos State Police Command told our correspondent that when he assumed office, in one of such meetings, he begged the stakeholders in the community who raised money to buy blocks, pay for the labour costs as well as foot the bill for fixing a gate around the station’s fence.

He says, “For you to succeed as a DPO there is no way you won’t live your life as if you are a beggar because money won’t be forthcoming from the top to make ends meet. And who are you to ask questions? When you are invited to a meeting with your boss, maybe at the Area Commander or Commissioner of Police, and issues bordering on finance come up, the best you can do is to say ‘yes sir, I’ll manage, sir.

“When I resumed at my duty post I specifically made the areas of needs of the station known to the various stakeholders in the community. At the end of the day, some private citizens and managers of firms were the ones who erected the fence of the station.”

He adds that after much persuasion, two managers of the petrol stations in the area had been providing the station with 50 litres of petrol per week. The Officer in Charge of Patrol and Guard goes around taking delivery of the fuel every Monday.

“And when the fuel finishes, the boys know how to go about getting the patrol vehicle refuelled because the work has to be done,” he adds.

A source in Akwa Ibom State Police Command explains that the situation is not different from other state commands. He however notes that the local government chairmen provide some monthly allowances to support police stations in their domains.

Also, a police source adds that the case of many states in the northern part of the country is usually worsened by the presence of many police posts under police divisions.

Another source at the Police Force Headquarters says the Police Public Relations Officers in the various state commands are worse off as their offices are not entitled to any allocations from the Force Headquarters.

The source adds that the PPROs in the various commands live at the mercy of the commissioners of police in their respective states.

The source notes, “The IG is just trying to work around something and find a way of including that office in the scheme of things to function appropriately. What about officers who get transferred to new police commands? The allowance they are entitled to in lieu of accommodation at that new desk for 30 days is not often even paid.

“Nigerian police officers and men are suffering in silence and yet we are expected to perform some magic. There are no two ways to it: The Federal Government and the National Assembly should commit more funds to the police for effective policing of the country."

When contacted, the acting Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, a Chief Superintendent of Police, confirmed the plight of the DPOs across the country.

According to him, the challenges are not peculiar to one particular state stressing that the state of police stations across the country are pathetic.

He adds that the Force Headquarters is constrained and cannot fund the various police divisions, area commands and state commands appropriately because, “we cannot give what we don’t have."
Mba advises officers and men of the Nigeria Police to do everything “humanly possible,” to do the job well despite the “challenges and constraints”.

Pregnant armed robber Arrested by the Police

Police men attached to the special anti-robbery squad of the Lagos State police command have arrested a nine-month-pregnant woman for alleged armed robbery.
The woman, Asabi Ojenike, a single mother, was alleged to be a member of an armed robbery gang operating within  Ogun and Lagos states.
Asabi, who claimed that she hails from Benin Republic, was arrested recently after she was lured to SARS Ikeja on the pretext that her lover was in custody and she should come to bail him.
Asabi Ojenike is alleged to be a gang member terrorising Lagos and Ogun states.
Asabi Ojenike is alleged to be a gang member terrorising Lagos and Ogun states.
The police said that Asabi belonged to a notorious armed robbery gang and had been on the wanted list for various deadly robberies including car theft in Ogun and Lagos States.
The police added that Asabi is a major player in the gang as she assisted them to gain entry into the victims’ homes and also acted as their arms keeper.
Asabi, who confessed to the allegation, however, stated that she has repented.
“It was Dipo, my lover’s friend, that introduced me to armed robbery. I sell herbs to women who want to get pregnant. I am nine months pregnant. I have twin sons and they are 10 years old . [I bore them] for another man,” she said.
“It was last year I met Dipo. Dayo, one Adetela and another Igbo  guy  who  belonged to the gang. On my first robbery operation, we went to Ore. My job was to pretend to be a desperate woman who wanted to buy goods or who was in need. I would knock on the door of our target victim and as soon as they opened the door to attend to me, the gang members, led by Dipo, would swoop on the occupants and rob them of their belongings.
“We operate at night from 8 o’Clock.  I only went once and we stole a car. They gave me N5000(Five Thousand Naira) as my share of the loot. I also assisted the gang move guns from Benin Republic to Nigeria. We have a gun supplier in Cotonu called Alhaji Gani, who gives me guns for the gang. I usually put the guns in my handbag and move about with it. The gang used me to move the guns because they know the police do not usually suspect women and they don’t check handbags.”
According to her, she joined the gang because one of her children was ill and she needed the money to cater for him.
“Dipo kept calling me to assist the gang with guns but I have stopped armed robbery since last year.  I now sell herbal medicine to women looking for the fruit of the womb,” the alleged robber said.
According to the police, Asabi has taken part in more than two robbery operations. They added that one Adetela, a member of the gang, was still at large and would be arrested soon.

VICTIM OF POLICE BRUTALITY REFUSES TO PRESS CHARGES

A 35-year-old woman, Tope Moore, who was brutalised by policemen attached to the Pedro Police Station in Lagos State has said she is not interested in seeking justice. The policemen had pushed Moore over a fence and beat her mercilessly until she soiled herself.
The abuse followed allegations that Moore’s younger brother, Bolaji Moore, led cultists who killed one Osondu Obunneke (19) at the Famous Hotel in Bariga area of Lagos State on June 9.
Moore was subsequently arrested by the police after Bolaji fled the area and she was detained at the Pedro Police Station with the faeces and urine on her body.
Tope Martins alleges that she was brutalised by policemen who detained her in her younger brother's stead.
Tope Moore alleges that she was brutalised by policemen who detained her in her younger brother’s stead.
She said that the police forced her to pay N15,000 as bail. Despite paying the money, she and five other people were transferred to the Homicide Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba on charges of conspiracy and murder.
Moore was detained for five days while police used her wanted brother as collateral for her release. She would have continued to languish in the cell but for the timely intervention of a community leader and human rights activist, Vincent Olatunde, who brought Moore’s plight to limelight.
Inquiries by the activist at the office of Umar Manko, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, brought Miss Moore’s ordeal to the CP’s attention.
Furious at the behaviour of the policemen, Mr. Manko ordered their detention and directed that Miss Moore be freed.
Lagos CP, Umaru Manko ordered the detention of the policemen who brutalised Miss Moore.
Lagos CP, Umaru Manko ordered the detention of the policemen who brutalised Miss Moore.
However, more than two weeks after regaining her freedom, Miss Moore has turned down legal assistance from human rights lawyers, who besieged her to seek justice.
When contacted on the phone about her reasons for doing so, Miss Moore said that she was scared to be hurt again.
“I’m scared. I do not want any wahala (trouble) with the police. I have forgiven them and I do not want justice. My family members told me to leave everything to God so that’s what I have decided to do. I just want to live my life and take care of my business and children. This ugly incident has almost ruined my marriage plans as my fiance’s family is not happy. I leave everything to God to judge the policemen.
“If policemen can hold a gun to my son’s head and force him to tell them where I was, and the way they treated me, I don’t have the strength to fight them. I have treated myself and I am okay,” Moore said.
Mr. Olatunde said Miss Moore’s refusal to seek justice is an indication that Nigerians have lost faith in the police and the government.
“Obviously, this woman is scared to fight for her rights. This is what happens where impunity is the order of the day. It is bad that people can no longer fight for their rights and when they are brutalised they fear to speak up due to intimidation.”
She is even scared to speak to the Press.
