In a false attempt to keep his memory alive, some members of the late Prophet Ajanaku‘s church
claimed he woke up from the dead as mortuary attendants were preparing his corpse ready for burial.
According to the rumor making round, Pastor Ajanaku allegedly woke up and shouted “Thank you Jesus ” before relapsing into another spiritual slumber. The members also claimrd his wife, Joy Ajanaku has been claiming daddy is not dead but has gone on spiritual journey with the saint triumphants.
According to sources from Gbogban (the hometown of late Ajanaku), in his lifetime, the founder of Christ Revival Victory Chapel International in Lagos, Pastor Iretiola Ajanaku who was a muslim before converting toChristianity.He was also said to be a member of the popular Oro cult.
Some residents of Ikola Odunsi, in the Ipaja Area of Lagos State where Prophet Ajanaku lived before his untimely death on Saturday evening where at Gbongan for his burial where surprised when Oro Adherents and Priest Conducted his burial rites. His funeral rites that started around 12:30am in the morningon Tuesday August 20, 2013 didn’t end until 4am.
The residents claim the oro worshipers chanted Ajanaku’s name throughout the nooks and crannies of Gbongan town. They Oro members stated the funeral rites from his residence and ended the rites at Folarin Williams Close.. The oro traditionalists chanted ““Ajanaku lo, o di gbere odarin na ko .otun doju ala” meaning “Ajanaku is gone forever, adieu”. This development has led to confusion among his faithful church members as some have vowed never to step into Christ Revival Victory chapel International again. This is unbeliavable said some of the confused members,they never knew the man they have come to trust as their spiritual head had all along lived a dual life.it is so sad.
