cross carpeting from PDP to ACN
The Councillor representing Ward D in Somolu Local Government in Somolu could cross over to the Ruling ACN from PDP any moment from now
Show of shame or show of power?
Was it just sheer show of superior gun power? What could have led the police n NSCDC officials to clash over protecting oil pipeline at Ikorodu on Wednesday morning? There has been allegation and counter allegation. NSCDC alleged two of its officers were killed by the police while the police alleged NSCDC attacked their men. What does this portend for the fragile security of our country?

COMMU NITY SENDS S>O>S TO GOVERNMENT OVER POLLUTION BY INDIAN COMPANY
Residents of Ajose Community in Ogijo, Ogun State are calling on
the government to come to their rescue following the pollution from
factories in their midst.
The residents said their lives are in danger due to chemical wastes from African Foundries, an Indian-owned steel production factory.
The resident said the factory serves as the harbinger of death to over 1,000 residents of the community and urged the government to take prompt action to save them from death.
Strangely, when the African Foundries was established about four years ago, the hope was that it would bring succour to the residents of the community as it offered employment to the people.
However, the cordial relationship between the company and the community has turned sour as the residents are sleeping with nose masks to prevent inhaling the poisonous smoke from the factory.
Others said they contacted asthma, tuberculosis among other respiratory infections due to the unchecked carbondioxide emission, which pollutes the air.
A resident, Michael Ikukoyi, said: “I’ve been living here with here with my family for about two years now due to to the frequent rent increase by my landlord in Lagos but I never envisaged the health problems that the company has brought through their lack of human feeling put on the people.
“I’ve never really enjoyed staying here due to the havoc that the company has wreaked over the years.
“The smoke from their factory always blows across the community and it has affected my health and those of other residents.
“The tunnel, which is supposed to lead the smoke out into the air, is faulty and the smoke now comes into our homes.”
Another resident, A. Ashafa, said: “Recently, there was a blast from the factory, which was reminiscent of the Ikeja cantonment bomb blast of 2002.
“This happened the day after the Ileya celebration and it shook my house to its foundation that I thought armed robbers had besieged us.”
According to another resident of Ajose community, who works in the factory: “People are injured in the factory from time to time while working and we are suffering here.
“Something has to be done very soon before we witness worse troubles.”
A community leader, Alhaji Fatai Sekoni, said: “On the 1st of october 2012, there was a blast, which lasted about 45 seconds very early in the morning and since then it has been constant vibration.
“Each time it vibrates, you will think the entire building will collapse.
“Thank God most of the buildings here are bungalows.
“I just wonder when this mess will come to an end.
“They helped us get a transformer and so what?
“They have really destroyed lives here and we don’t want them here again.
“The factory has apart from the transformer never lived up to its corporate responsibility.”
The Community Development Office, Akoni Jamiu, accused the company of reneging on the agreement it entered into.
Jamiu stated that the management of African Foundries signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the community in September 2012 to address the pollution in the community but has not kept the promise.
He said: “How do you want me to explain the fact that we sleep with protective masks at night without power supply?
“The situation is so terrible that one man in the community was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night after suffering from suffocation from the smoke that the factory emits.
“Asthma, tuberculosis are among other ailments that people here have had to contend with over the years because of the unchecked carbondioxide from the factory.
“The residents are now appealing to both the state and federal governments to assist them before we are all killed by the smoke emanating from the factory.
“We are writing a petition to the Ministry of the Environment and other government agencies to come to our aid.
“The heap of waste from the company is hazardous but they leave it exposed.
“We need help before people start dying.”
When contacted, the Managing Director of African Foundries, C. Charmas, said the company has taken measures to halt the pollution.
Charmas said: “We have cordial relationship with the people and we have put measures in place to keep everybody safe.
“We are committed to that and we are doing everything possible to achieve the desirable results for all.”

How absentee Councillor lives in USA, collects salary in Nigeria.
Olufemi Onisarootu |
Olufemi
Oluseyi Onisarootu, a two time councilor in the Shomolu Local Government Council in Lagos State has always been in the eyes of the
storm.
After the drama In 2007, where residents alleged that he was imposed on the people of Ward B of the council area by an alleged godfather who is also his uncle, this time, the residents are alleging that after Olufemi was sworn in for a second term, he has been "living large" in the United States of America.
Olufemi's alleged absence from his official duties has become a cause for concern and is causing tension among councillors in Shomolu LGA who cannot explain his whereabouts .
In an earlier complaint, the people of Ward B stated that Olufemi should not have been sworn in as their councilor since he does not reside in Shomolu but in Olateju street in Mushin.
A source in Shomolu who does not want his name mentioned asked "Can you imagine Shomolu LGA paying an absentee councilor his monthly salary and other entitlements while he is in Durkheim, USA with his family after wining a visa lottery in 2011. His account is with Skye bank."

To hush things up, it was alleged that some so called elders of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Shomolu get a certain percentage of Olufemi's salary.
Even when council chairman bpught and allocated vehicles to councilors and political officers in the LGA, Olufemi also benefited as it was collected on his behalf by his family.
It was revealed that Olufemi was initially given medical exemption letter for
three months but this has run into years. Those who complained and asked
questions on the nature of his illness where silenced.
Our source revealed that members of his (Olufemi's) family
came to move his own car away from where it was parked at the council recently.
Some days to the last local government election, Olufemi flew
into the country and left the 3rd day after he was fraudulently declared the
winner of the election. He also came for the
verdict of the tribunal after which he had not been to Nigeria but
continue to receive money through criminal connivance with the ACN.
The residents of Ward B have started
the process of recalling him.
A
PDP stewart who also spoke on the condition of anonymity said, "SinceOlufemi became a councilor for the second term, through dubious means, he has not performed his official duty up to ten (10) days in office. If it was PDP or another party that did this, ACN would have cried foul. So this is what is happening in Shomolu LGAl and nothing is going to happen since this is what
the ACN does as they believe they are in charge in Lagos State".
Noise pollution: Policemen ejected from Barrack
Sgt. Kennedy moving some of the corporal's property. |
Two policemen were, on Wednesday, ejected from their apartments at the Pedro Police barracks in Lagos State for allegedly playing loud music.
Five policemen from the Police Provost Department allegedly broke into the rooms of the two policemen identified simply as Corporals Ebi and Peters to effect the ejection.
Policemen at the barracks said they were surprised when the team arrived at about 12noon and started removing property from the apartments.
“Trouble started for the policemen when a team of senior police officers, led by Akao, a Deputy Inspector General of Police, from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, was at the Barracks on March 5 on a tour of the barracks," an officer explained.
The DIG heard loud music coming from one of the corporals’ room and immediately ordered that he be ejected from the room with his wife and two children.
Moving to another building, he heard loud sports commentary coming from a room and the same order was given even though it was the corporal's younger brother who was listening to sport news.
At first, the policemen thought it was a joke but later saw the seriousness of the order when a letter, signed by CSP London Aloba, on March 14, 2013, with the title: “Quit Notice,” ordered the men to quit their apartments before March 20, 2013.
The letter said failure to comply could lead to forceful ejection and disciplinary action as the apartment has been assigned to other policemen.
Fair complexioned Corporal Joy was the only female among the five policemen who effected the ejection.
The policemen added that the occupants of the rooms were not at home when their apartments were broken into.
The policemen and their families had gone out but when information got to the wife of one of the affected policemen, she ran home and saw all her property outside and their door broken.
She started taking pictures of the vandalised property but the officers from the Provost Office later came back and asked her to move the property back into the room, that they have been given two more weeks to vacate but she sat down crying.
She was helpless and sad over the incident that fellow policemen could treat her husband so crudely. Policemen of the rank and file cadre expressed disappointment with the police high command for treating them with disdain.
One of them said: “This barrack needs a lot of repairs and all the DIG saw was the music.
“We need a better barracks and to be treated with dignity.”
SERIOUS CRISIS IN KING’S COLLEGE LAGOS
Some dilapidated parts of the 'revered' Kings College, Lagos. |
Dear KC Parents,
In the attachment is a copy of the mail that was sent to the
Minister of Education as a petition, describing the pathetic state of Kings
College, Lagos.
This petition has generated series of attentions and
reactions from the Principal and PTA Chairman, also from their responds to the
query they received from Abuja. They are now working tirelessly on how they can
cover up these verifiable truths about the situation of things in the school.
It is time for the entire parents to join in this struggles,
we are aware that PTA General meeting will be coming up on Sunday 24th March,
let us be prepared to ask questions about fate of our children. We have to take
the destiny of our children seriously in our hands and fight this duo, as the
Principal and his partners in crime has no intention of repenting from their
evil acts. They are bent on extorting more monies from parents perpetually to
enrich themselves through the seemingly Hostel building project and other
means.
If you will remember, we all agreed to build a 5 storey
Hostel Apartment for our children to provide accommodation for our children
that had been sleeping on the Hostel balconies since resumption and
contributions was made by parents, money was also raised through the fund
raising but they have long concluded plans not to go beyond 3 storey but to
keep sub-charging the parents every term for the same Hostel Building project.
It may suit you to know that enough has been generated for
the construction of the Hostel project, but they keep sharing the money through
their self-appointed contractors that collect money without any verification
for what the money is meant for.
We can no longer fold our hands and pretend that all will be
well, when God has already put the necks of our enemies in our hands, they are
in defensive position. It is time to say NO to these tyrant, extortion and
robbery.
As mentioned in the petition, our children are kings,
privileged and entitled to conducive learning environments and good food. Not
the kind of stuff the Principal is offering them. They need these to perform
excellently in their academics and other areas.
Let us rise up and speak against this corruption with one
voice. Let us get this message to other parents and fight for the benefit of
our children. God is on our side, we shall root out this evil from KINGS
COLLEGE, LAGOS.
CONCERNED PARENTS
Signed 14th , February 2013
The Chairman,
Senate Committee on Education
Federal House of Senate
Senate House
Abuja.
Dear Sir
SERIOUS CRISIS IN KING’S COLLEGE LAGOS
This petition is aimed to draw your attention to the ugly incidence happening in King’s college, Lagos since Nov. 27th 2011. A petition dated 29th November, 2011 has earlier on been written to the Hon. Minister of State on Education, Federal Ministry of Education but till now, there has not been any intervention. Some part of the issues in this petition is already a subject matter of litigation before the Lagos High Court in suit Nos. ID/142/2012 and as at date, the principal refused to appear before the court rather he sends his teachers to represent him claiming that at his level, he cannot be seen in the courts thereby giving the impression that he is above sanctions.
We are constrained to alert you and members of your committee because more things are happening and if left unattended to it may degenerate into a worst situation.
NOW THE CRISIS ARE:
DISTRUPTION OF PTA MEETING/EXECUTIVE
The principal has taken over the PTA of King’s College as his own personal property thereby making all the parents fools. The principal Otunba Oladele Olapeju aborted the P.T.A. election which was schedule to hold on the 27th Nov. 2011 and appointed his own candidates Mr. Emmanuel Oriakhi to run the affairs of the P.T.A on an interim basis, not minding the fact that the P.T.A. constitution has no provision for interim administration.
The principal on his own without recourse to the general house changed some portions of the P.T.A. constitution and claimed that it was on the instruction of the Minister of Education.
In March 2012, election was conducted to elect new executives to take over from the illegal interim administration and the elected offices were as follows: Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, P.R.O, Social secretary, Legal Adviser and Financial Secretary. After the election was conducted and concluded, the principal usurped the mandate given by the parents in the case of the Financial Secretary with the reason and excuse that there was a letter again from the Minister of Education stating that the post of Financial Secretary must be held by the school staff and to that effect, he appointed a the School Store keeper as PTA Financial Secretary. This he did to enable him take over the control of the finance of the P.T.A.
The imposed PTA Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Oriakhi with the connivance of the Principal single-handedly brought in some members of the interim committee into the executive as ex-officio and as at this report they are the ones that coordinates PTA key projects, for instance, School Bus Shuttle Services, Laundry etc. in order to continue to perpetuate their fraudulent and illegal acts.
CONSTRUCTION OF THE P.T.A HOSTEL SCAM
The School management through the principal wrote a letter to PTA, requesting for assistance to build a 5 storey Hostel block to accommodate the teaming population of the student (copy attached). This request was accepted by the parents in PTA general meeting. A building levy of N15,000 was agreed, just for the Principal and his partner the PTA Chairman to impose N40,000 on parents of the new intakes.
At the commencement of the Hostel project, the Chairman and the Principal with impunity connived to impose two unqualified main contractors to handle the project, shrouded in secrecy, without the knowledge of other members of the executives, without going through the due process of tendering and bidding which is expected for such Capital project, they did this to protect their fraudulent interest.
From the preliminary stage, they decided to compromise on a whole lot of things for instance, Soil test that should be carried out to determine the soil bearing capacity and foundation types suitable for the building structure was not properly done, argument ensued on who should handle the drawing and the fund to be raised between the Principal and PTA Chairman. The Principal wants to be in control of the finance, the standard practice was not allowed since he was not in direct control of the finance.Using his office and intimidation, the idea of securing the building plan approval and other necessary documents approval were dropped. The Principal claimed that the school is a Federal Government property and that he had handled other building projects in the school without Lagos State Physical Planning Agency approvals.
Personnel from Lagos State environmental agencies came to the site thereafter, just for the duo to start looking for who can assist them to evade the necessary dues and procedure that should have been done.
In furthering their plans to defraud PTA, they appointed some of their cronies to handle supplies. And at many occasions, materials supplied for the Hostel building, at the instruction of the Principal and with the knowledge of PTA Chairman, are carted away overnight to other location for other on-going project in the school.
ADMISSION SCAM
The principal sometime before September admission in 2012, made an open promise to parents in PTA General meeting that he will assist parents whose children failed to secure admission into JSS1 and SS1 on merit to secure admission. The PTA Chairman acting as a front for the principal, informed parents to either bring 50 bags of cement or the cash equivalent of N100,000 as a support for the Hostel building project before the admission will be given.
About 50 parents paid the sum of N100,000 each and were issued fictitious receipts for cement as a cover up. What was very disheartening in this act, was the fact that children with higher scores whose parents could not afford to pay N100,000 were denied and the fund raised diverted, as the Principal insisted and collected the money from PTA personally before signing the admission letters.
UNHEALTHY BOARDING HOUSE FACILITY
Some of the SS1 – SS3 students at the main camp have been sleeping on the corridors of the hostels since the beginning of this session, because of the greed of the principal, who gave admission to more students over the existing capacity and facility available in the school. This act has over-stretched the existing structures and facilities thereby affecting the welfare of our children that paid for boarding accommodation.
COMMERCIALISING THE SCHOOL PREMISES
The Annex Campus of Victoria Island had been turned into car parks for banks and their customers such as GT Bank at Adeyemo Alakija which has no car park due to the high rise and no space building that it has. The principal leased out the school premises to them for a high amount of money thereby endangering the lives of our children. Not minding the spate of insecurity in our society today.
Shops and business centers were constructed everywhere making the school atmosphere un-conducive for learning. But for the intervention of Lagos State Environmental Agencies that demolished some of the shops that were recently constructed, our children would have been learning in a market square other than school premises.
During the weekends, the school premise in the Annex Campus is rented out at a fee for one social function or the other and parties are thrown without caution and recourse to the fact that this is a learning environment for children in JSS1-JSS3 whose ages range between 10-13 years (Moral bankruptcy).
IMPOSED RAFFLE TICKET LEVY
At the resumption of this second term, the principal Otunba Oladele Olapeju with the connivance of the P.T.A. Chairman Mr. Emman Oriakhi suddenly increased the PTA levies from N7,500:00 to N20,500:00, imposing an additional N10,000:00 tagged Raffle ticket levy, and N3,000:00 as laundry fee, without discussing it at the general meeting for approval.
MISMANAGEMENT OF PTA FUND
The PTA Chairman and his cronies dispenses PTA money as their personal money, himself and the principal, through the imposed Secretary Mrs. Umeano a teacher, who co-sign the PTA cheques with the Chairman. They decide on what areas to utilize the funds and allocate contracts to their cronies without the knowledge of other members of the executives and approval of the general house. They run the PTA without a budget, no checks and balances. It has become so bad, that the Chairman operates the P.T.A. Secretariat from his personal office at Alaka, along Funso Williams Avenue Surelere, where he keeps contract files away from other members of the executives.
The principal and the chairman uses different fictitious contractor names to siphon the P.T.A. money without the approval of the general house and do not render an account to the general house. Among many others are the Cleaning contractor imposed on the PTA, since Nov. 27th 2011, which the PTA pays the sum of N500,000;00 monthly for service not rendered, and the sum of N1.5million paid monthly for PTA staff that does not exist.
CONCLUSION
Rancor and crisis is brewing up now in the school at the moment because of the building levy that is incessantly imposed on parents, the unhealthy and not conducive learning environment that the school has subjected our children, our children return home at the end of every term with water related sicknesses, in spite of all the good-wills offered to the school by parents and corporate bodies. Parents are asking questions and are of the opinion that the previous money paid for the building project is not being judiciously utilized. Raffle ticket shared to students for sales should not be made compulsory for them to pay before completion of the sale.
We hereby do appeal to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Education and to all concerned to come to the rescue of the Students, Parents, Teachers and the good image of this premier institution from collapse and to correct these administrative ills being perpetuated by the principal and his partner P.T.A Chairman to return Kings College to its former glory. We will appreciate your immediate intervention to correct these wrongs in order to give us the joy of seeing the king’s college of our dream.
Thank you as we look forward for your urgent intervention into this matter.
Yours Sincerely,
Concerned Parents.
RELIGIOUS FICTION.FRAUD AND PROFANITY IN THE NAME OF GOD
It is a common phenomenon in Nigeria
today, to see warehouses, shops, hotels reception halls, open space at
every nooks and cranny being converted to Christian house of worship,
with heavy microphones and loud speakers contesting for significance.
The rate at which churches are springing up in Nigeria;
especially in the urban areas, one would think the sentence that started
the Bible;"In the beginning GOD created the heaven and the earth" and
"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all " that ends it,
revolves round just Nigerians.
According to Karl Max, "Religion is the
opium of the poor masses." This aptly applies to Nigeria
and other African countries whose rulers in conjunction with Western colonial hostilities have bastardised the economy and pauperised the
people hence a recourse (solace) to religion.
Islam and
Christain religion are means applied by Leaders to bamboozle the
masses, using revised text in the two holy books to subdue any discerning
mind who may want to revolt. I am not contesting the existence of the
Almighty Father, it is a known fact that God has nothing of equal age
(Co-Eva).God is the Uncreated,Imperishable and only True God;The
Ominipotent.
But today, some so called men of God have turned
what ordinarily used to be a Godly fellowship; to a money making
ventures with a lot of religious syncretism and abracadabra.Miracles are
churned out everyday as if it were daily chores.Marriages have been
distabilized,Homes; broken, friendship; strained by fake prophets all in
the name of God. We have witnessed a situation where cuttlasses and
other dangerous weapons were used by church members against each other,
factions abounds in the churches, sexual immorality is on the
rise, christainity is practised with a mixed grill of animism.
Pastors pretend to go into trance and make prophesy inorder to dupe innocent and unsuspecting people.Take the case of a man that was duped of 4million Naira all in the name of helping him to exorcise an evil spirit from his child.
Pastors pretend to go into trance and make prophesy inorder to dupe innocent and unsuspecting people.Take the case of a man that was duped of 4million Naira all in the name of helping him to exorcise an evil spirit from his child.
The unsuspecting victims take in their lies
,hook, line and sinker,Infact most churches practise fictions and
fraud, Pastors steal congregation's Offerings. In Orthodox, Pentecostal
and the White Garment Churches, most Pastors are criminally minded. There
was this case of a Pastor in one of the big Pentecostal Churches along
the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ogun-State,Nigeria
who stole a Lexus car belonging to another Pastor of the
church.Instances abound where church Ministers have duped
members.Recently,is the case of a top government official who also
doubles as a big time Minister in one of the big churches in Nigeria,
he is well respected and trusted even by the General Overseer.Alas!
when he died in a Plane crash,it was discovered that the man was neckdip
in corruption and also married to two women, outside his martrimonial
home.
Churches no longer preach Salvation, their emphasis is
more on prosperity.Sometime, you could hardly differentiate between a
fashion show and what is supposed to be a church service;Ladies are
skimpily dressed in outrageous and tempting dresses, some of them dress
like prostitutes on the runway.Infact ,no
matter how pious you are ,your mind is bound to derail as you open your
eyes to the vainly and debased dressing of the women folk in the
church.
Revivals are daily organised with the anthem
POSPERITY taking the front burner, while "deep your hands into your
pockets and give the Lord a wonderful offering" as if GOD is a
beggar, forms the final and most important of all the messages. No
revival is completed without the so called men of God asking their
unfortunate congregations to part with their hard earned money, failure
to comply translates to unanswered prayers. In most cases,it could be
likened to a scene at a Public Auction; where the highest bidder gets
the good. Many of these Prophets make use of diabolical rituals to
hypnotise their victims, It is the case of "the more you look, the less
you see".
The scenerio could also be likened to the popular
say that "Monkey dey work, Baboon dey chop" While church members are
running from pillar to post,
to meet up church obligations, the so called men of G(g)od are busy
feeding fat on the sweats of these ignorant souls. Some of the churches
are so emershed in materialism that; they dont even have crusifix(cross)
which represents Christ within their church premises. In those days,it
used to be the picture of Christ in His humility that graced every
christian publicity, but today, reverse is the case, it is the
flamboyant pictures of Pastors and their wives, with enticing captions
that are conspicously displayed in the streets. A case of men making God
in their image, to swindle a fellow man of his belongings.
ENOUGH OF THIS ABRACADABRA
